Kitchen Demo Day

I fell off the wagon posting.  Painting. Talking.  Breathing.  Friday Sept. 5th my sweet baby Jill had a stroke, and we knew it was time to let her go.  It is never easy.  You always question your decision.  Thank God we were home, Derald was with me, and we have a great vet close by.  I had Jill for 13 years, and she was a part of our family.  I miss her terribly.  I know next week will be better, but for now, it is painful.  So….we are keeping busy with Gracie.  I am catching my breath.

My princess, Jill.

Kitchen Demo Day.  We found some wood rot and decided to just take the bull by the horns and tear in to it.  For some strange reason, tearing out a wall felt good to me today.

Our neighbor has a trash bin for a bathroom remodel they are doing and told us to feel free to load her up.  Very fortunate for us!  We have until Friday to get as much demo work done as we can before their bin is removed.

This is what you hate to find.  Wood rot.  The door / wall side was loose, a big red flag.  We dug the bad wood out and found a new fresh piece under it.  I guess the PO only went so far in their rehab.  Believe it or not, it looks worse than it is.  Not that hard to repair…..says the woman with a McGiver husband.

Entry rot

Peeling off the walls and insulation.  A dirty job.  And yes I am helping, but stopped to shoot pictures.

Removing the ceiling and finding a little hail damage!  Oh well, no one will ever see it up there.
